Okay, I know it's late but here is what I made on Valentine's Day! =)

Start with some dough: (sugar cookie dough)

And draw a heart in it:
For 2 reasons...
  1. Because you want to.
  2. Because that's the shape the cookies are going to be.
And put it in the fridge for 1 hr. (more if you're busy like me...)
Then go do something fun. (aka school in my case) =)
Then when you're done with..."something fun" the dough should be hard and you can start making cookies.

Oh and a note:

  • ** Note **: Make the frosting before hand. Otherwise you'll be up until...o-dark-hundred in the morning frosting these things. (By o-dark-hundred I mean around 2 A.M.)
So, make the frosting.
Add some color. I used 2 colors to make 3 colors of frosting.
  1. Red
  2. Blue
I made red and pink frosting:

And I also made purple frosting:

And here's what they looked like
Red and pink icing in the back was for the outlines. And the red and purple in the front are for the inside (aka "flood" icing).

And put the "flood" icing in these snazzy little bottle things that you can get from Pampered Chef. This just happens to be what I used, I'm sure you can find something else.
Let me introduce you to my *newest* best friends. (left to right) Dazzling Pink "Dazzle" for short, Ravishing Red, and Pretty Purple.

Alright, now that you've met them, lets put them to work making these cookies dazzling, ravishing and pretty. =)

And now I'm going to make another note:
  • This is a note.
  • This is another note.
  • And this is the note you actually need to read. Alright, I know ravishing and pretty probably mean about the same thing, but I'm using them anyway. ;)
Okay so, what was I rambling on about? Oh, right frosting!
Let's put frosting on these cookies!

Here's how to start.
  1. Outline the cookies with your hard icing.
  2. Wait for it to dry before you put the "flood" icing on.
  3. Then put the "flood" icing on.
Get it? Got it. Good.

First, outline!
With pink.

Then with red.

Then with both:

Then, once it's dry (or hard) put on some thinner icing, like so:
I added dots in another color and ran a toothpick through the middle.

I'd say don't stick your fingers in the frosting, like I did to *two* of the cookies in this picture.

And, when you run out of frosting, and it's already 2 o'clock, and you're ready to quit and not clean up, clean up anyway while talking to your dad who got up for some tea. Now remember, he's laughing at you because you're not done yet, but also looking at all the cookies and pointing out the ones he likes. =) He pointed out the "I ♥ Dad" one a couple times, hehe!
And then, once he goes back to bed, and you finally finish cleaning up. This is what you make yourself as a "good job" reward.
Let the frosting spill off onto the counter. It doesn't matter anyway, just lick it off...oh sorry, wipe it with your finger (don't forget you lick your finger), then wipe the counter with some kind of cleaning product.

Also, if nobody will help, here's what to do.
  1. When someone comes into the kitchen looking for a cookie to eat, ask them if they want to frost one.
  2. Then, when they ask if they can have the one they frost, say yes.
  3. Then, when they ask if they can have one if they don't frost one, say no.
  4. Then get pictures of the one they frosted because it's funny looking and cute. That way you have proof that someone did actually help you frost cookies.
Here's my proof:
This is the cookie my brother decorated for the purpose of eating. But isn't it cute? =)

I got the idea for these from this post (Julia @ Through the Looking Glass).
Anyway dear friends, I hope you enjoyed my silly/random post, and if you got this far, Congrats!

Have a great Sunday!

Old toys

If any of you have young cousins (or siblings) that you think are absolutely adorable, you'll know what I'm talking about when I say my cousin is adorable!! =)

On Tuesday, we babysat my little cousin. Mama and I got out a bunch of old toys we thought he would like and washed them up for him to play with.

Those toys included blocks:
Tupperware blocks that open up

A very old Fisher Price "little snoopy" puppy:
Isn't it cute??

A Little Tikes School Bus:
(sorry I didn't get a very good picture but you can see it well enough in the upper right hand corner)

And the little people to go with it:

There's also a little green car, but I didn't get a close up picture of it. (You can see it in pic #3 and 4)

Some of these toys (the blocks and little snoopy) are from when my sister, Miss Laurie, was little!

There's another post in the works about what I made on Monday! Stay tuned. =)

P.S. How do you love my *new* signature? Designed with my blog in mind by Yours Truly! =)

Cinninninnamon Rolls!

Isn't true that most little kids can't say cinnamon? Well, if not, I was one of the rare kids that couldn't. I'd add extra inn's. (Hence the title of this post)
Random:

I love cinnamon rolls! =)

Last week some time, Mama made cinnamon rolls.
Mmmm, *so* scrumptious!

Don't they look delicious?

I'd love to read about your favorites!

On another note, I've added some *new* pictures to my sidebar, and an About Miss Bea page (at the top) if you'd like to read it. You at least have to go see the picture I put in there of G & G pussy cats! It's to cute! =)

God be with them...

This is the song I talked about in my last post, hope you like it!

God Be With You

God be with you till we meet again;
By His counsels guide uphold you,
With His sheep securely fold you,
God be with you till we meet again.

God be with you till we meet again!
'Neath his wings protecting hide you,
Daily manna still provide you;
God be with you till we meet again!

God be with you till we meet again!
When life's perils thick confound you,
Put His arms unfailing round you;
God be with you till we meet again!

God be with you till we meet again!
Keep loves banner floating o'er you,
Smite death's threatening wave before you;
God be with you till we meet again!

Chorus:
Till we meet, till we meet,
Till we meet at Jesus' feet;
Till we meet, till we meet,
God be with you till we meet again.
~Jeremiah E. Rankin

This is for those of us who've lost loved ones,
Who we will see again in Heaven.

{Praying for the H. family as they lost a loved one this morning.}

Randomness....10 things

10 random things? I think so!

1. Snow - We just got over a foot in one storm! I'm excited!!

2. Music - The other day I was listening to a Selah CD that I borrowed from Miss Laurie (You Deliver Me) and I heard this song that sounded familiar...it was titled, God Be With You. When I had heard it for about the 2nd time I thought, hey that sounds like...but I couldn't think of where it was from...Do you know?

3. Crochet - Last month, my family worked on making scarves for the Special Olympics in our state. We made 36 total. (pictures to come) =)

4. Snow Cream! - While the snow that we got makes it hard for travel, it makes great snow cream. We put a bowl out yesterday to catch some fresh snow to make it with....haven't made it *yet*, though I'm sure we will.

5. Movies - The last movie I watched was...Alice in wonderland, the old version. =)
I also watched City of Ember recently, and enjoyed it.=)

6. *New* blog design - Like it? It's simple yet....(your own words here)
Give me your opinion, please? Like the font? =)

7. Dessert - I love dessert!! =) Cookies, Ice cream, Cake, Brownies, Chocolate! All of it!! =)

8. School - I'm loving school (at the moment) ;D Instead of photography, I'm learning computer programming, (love love love!!) all the things you can do are amazing! I'm also having fun with Algebra...I know, I know, strange but...yeah. =)

9. What else....hmmm....think random.......Oh! I know...It's February! =D

10. I'm off to work on my newest scarf.

There! 10 random things. Why 10? Because I didn't think I could do it. =)

(Silly post I know, but sometimes, you just have to be silly!)

In Christ,
Miss Bea
