Happy Resurrection Day!

I thought about a fancy post but, I had no idea what do put in it. So I'll just say this:

God is SO good.

He is Risen! Hallelujah!
Jesus died for our sins, paid it all for us. Three days later he rose from the dead.

I hope today, you know the real meaning of Easter. Nowadays in this world, Easter is made to be anything but what it was meant for.
Now it means bunnies and candy....and all those things.
Easter wasn't ever meant to be like that. It's a time for rejoicing in what God did for us!
It's the best gift anyone ever gave us, and if we only accept it, then we'll go to live with Him in heaven! {I'm pretty excited about that, if ya know what I mean ;)}

Sure, easter egg hunts are fun, and bunnies (who doesn't like biting the ears off of a chocolate bunny?!), and toys are really cool (for a little while). Those things are nice, but when you compare celebrating those things with celebrating what Easter is really about? I think the best choice is celebrating what Jesus did on the cross. And, everything here on earth, it's nothing. Nothing compared to heaven, and all of the wonderful things that are waiting for us there.

At my house, we've always celebrated Easter {or Resurrection Day, we call it both}. We get our Easter baskets filled with jelly beans and little chocolate crosses...usually some little goodies like pencils or something. But it's not just that. We don't just do that. We celebrate the fact that He Is Risen! Not just today, but all year round. Giving God the glory, not ourselves. Not the candy. Not the toys or the "Easter bunny", but God.

I pray friends, that you are having a wonderful Resurrection Day!
Enjoy your goodies! ;)

P.S. I'm not trying to sound like I'm against all those things. They're fun and add a little variety to the day, but candy isn't all that Easter is about. =)

A verse I found and loved for today. I didn't get much sleep and with a busy day ahead of me, I needed to be reminded of this before I started my day complaining...don't we all? =)

"The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praise: so shall I be saved from my enemies." ~ Psalm 18:2-3

Fan Girl Ramblings

So, as you may have guessed from the title, I. Am. A. Crazy. Fan-girl.
On St. Patrick's Day, Miss Laurie and I watched one of our favorite Celtic music groups perform their *newest* DVD concert (on TV). And, {although old enough to know better} we squealed along with the other crazy fan-girls watching the show.

Okay, you may be wondering, "Who is this Celtic group that Miss Bea is a fan of?" wait no longer! You'll get your answer in a second...hold your horses let me find a picture! ;)

These guys!!
Celtic Thunder

They are probably the one "band" I listen to ALL the songs they ever have....
I know, I know, I'm bad. Let me guess, your mouth is hanging open and you're thinking..."Bea!! That's awful!! Why don't you have any other favorite bands?!?!"
And all I can say is..."Wow, I never really thought about it...."

Alright, on to "fan-girl favorites!" *ahem*
This fan-girl's favorites from Celtic Thunder are...

Favorite Singers:
Damian McGinty, Neil Byrne, and the *newest* member, Emmet Cahill

Favorite Songs:
Oh my, that's hard. Well, from their newest concert Heritage my absolute
favorite was the last song, A Voice in the Choir. But I liked all the songs pretty well.

A Place in the Choir ~ Makem & Clancy
This is the song I mentioned, although not sung by Celtic Thunder and it's called by a slightly different name. But it's still really good.

Alrightie fan-girls! Since you (probably) have a favorite "band" (or a few) which are your favorites? Have you heard Celtic Thunder before? If so, who do you like best? Which is your favorite song?

As a Side Note:
I was also wondering, would any of you be interested in putting together a new header for this blog? Once I get some nice pictures of myself, that is. Maybe. We'll see. Just putting it out there as an idea if anyone would like to help me with that... ;)
