Today I am...{3}

Today I am...
(and lately I have been...)

{Writing}
I'm doing this daily scripture writing plan for January:
It's fun and super easy, plus it only takes a few minutes every day!

{Reading}
This year I'm reading through my Bible
I'm also reading North & South

{Listening}
Lately it's been Pentatonix because their Pandora Christmas channel is like my favorite, but then Fernando Ortega, and some Hammered Dulcimer music.
Also one of my favorite hymns that someone sang as special music last Sunday, Little is Much if God is in it.

{Watching}
For a while I've been watching Once Upon a Time, and Heartland.
For Christmas we watched a lot of different Christmas movies.
The latest movie I saw was Beauty and the Briefcase.
I got the new Cinderella movie, and Inside Out for Christmas.

{Looking}
Because Pinterest is amazing, I've been searching for animal blankets to crochet.

{Learning}
How to drive.

{Feeling}
A lot of things. I main thing is I've been tired, and almost depressed. I think it's the time of year, winter just gets me down usually but this year there's no snow, and I'm bummed.

{Anticipating}
Having a whole week off of work! I wasn't happy at first but now I'm really looking forward to it, and starting to plan how I'm going to spend it, and what crafts I'm going to get done.

{Wishing}
I'm wishing I had a 5-year journal. And that there were more hours in the day.

{Loving}
Warm hoodies and socks. Also, I got a new king size fleece blanket for Christmas. It's really warm. I also love sleeping. Sleeping is good.

What have you been doing lately?

Simple Captures: Day 14

For Valentine's Day my mom was very sweet and bought each of my siblings some chocolate.
It was yummy :-)

And also on Valentine's day, I made a heart shaped chocolate cake! 2 layers of chocolaty goodness, with chocolate frosting!
I didn't much like it with the frosting. I'm not very fond of chocolate cake/ chocolate frosting. Vanilla cake / chocolate frosting is better but my favorite is vanilla cake/ vanilla frosting. And I don't think I really like chocolate cake with frosting, since I've had it more often with just powdered sugar on top, I like that best.

It was fun to decorate thought, and my family loved it!

Truly,
Bea

Simple Captures: Day 6 & Today I am...{2}

Today I am...
(And lately I have been...)

{writing}
Blog posts here, and a bit for school. I still don't write for fun! haha.

{reading}
My Bible (still doing the Word of Life Devotional book!), and reading some for school.
Also been reading a sewing pattern...I think that counts! And I've been reading blog posts from certain people, but it depends on if I have time, and if I'm interested.
I kinda quit reading North and South, and I'm supposed to be reading Wives and Daughters for school.

{listening}
Casting Crowns station on Pandora, a bit of Les Mis, and at the moment I'm listening to Disney songs with my sister. I've also been enjoying Buddy Davis' CD's, especially I Am Not Ashamed, and my favorite song is King of Kings.

{watching}
I've been watching movies with my sister. Like a week or so ago we watched Little Men, two nights ago we watched Earthsea, and tonight we watched a movie called Radio Rebel.
We also watch videos on Youtube like Messy Mondays, Jostie Flicks, and Tim Hawkins (comedy).

{looking}
For quick and easy crochet and sewing projects to keep me busy. I've also been looking around each day for something to photograph for my Simple Captures challenge this month!

{learning}
Learning...oh uh, that God will bless those who obey Him. I've been struggling with this for awhile now. I submitted to Him a couple weeks ago, and He's been teaching me more and more through my Bible study.

These are some tiny hearts I've been crocheting today. I love them so much! And they're really really easy! I used this tutorial, it makes up very quickly!

{feeling}
Better. Happier. After talking with a friend, and realizing what was really missing in my life, I'm learning I need to spend more time pursuing this part. When I do, I feel happier, and am less apt to disagree with my family over small matters. When I don't or I forget to, my day goes horribly, and I get frustrated easily.

{anticipating}
Being able to go to Sunday school, and Church services this coming Sunday. And possibly trying the youth group some time soon. Also going shopping Friday night.

{wishing}
To find some jeans that fit! Hopefully I can soon, because the pair I have now are wearing out.

{loving}
Crafting. Just crafting. Crocheting, sewing, anything crafts. I love them so much.
Also music. I love music. And crafts. Listening to music while crafting is the best part. hehe! :-D

What have you been up to lately?
Have any neat crafts you've been working on? Please share!

Simple Captures: Day 5

I made it to Day 5! YAY!!!

I had little to no inspiration today, so I took pictures of my socks.... :-D
But that's okay right? Socks are cool!

Miss Raquel at God's Daughter is hosting a giveaway on her blog!

There are some super cool prizes, and it's really easy to enter!

Do you love socks as much as I do?

Simple Captures: Day 1

Happy February!
Today's the first day of the Simple Captures Challenge!

It's really late, but I'm finally posting the first picture of the challenge!

Meet my Critters! Each one has a story, and they're all pretty special.
The frog, elephant, and bunny I bought at a nearby Museum. The dog (his name is pug), I got from Sunday school as a quiet seat prize when I was 7 or 8 (I'm really quiet. Especially at church, even more so when I was younger...I got that prize a lot. haha). The storm trooper I found in a parking lot when we first moved to KY. The pink monkey I got from a gumball machine in Maine, when I had my friends over for my 16th birthday party last year.  And the others I got from gumball machines in Maine, they don't have very special meanings, but I still like them. :-)

I love collecting little critters, they're so cute! They also look great on dressers :D

Today since I was taking pictures of them already, I decided to do a sort of stop motion video with them.
Check it out here!
I only did it with a few, but I kinda wish now I had done more! I may do some more in the future, because it was just so fun! :-)

Have a great day!
Do you have any critters?

A few songs I've been loving lately

These are a few random songs I've been listening to a lot lately. They're just for fun, another post idea I had!  :-D

Waterfall - The Piano Guys (Jon Schmidt)

How Great Thou Art - Carrie Underwood

What Makes You Beautiful (Piano Cover) - The Piano Guys

Courageous - Casting Crowns

Disney Medley - Doo Wop Shop A Capella Group

Me and My Cello - Happy Together (Cello Cover) - The Piano Guys

What songs have you been loving lately?

Have a wonderful week! :-)

Today I Am...{1}

I figured I haven't posted in a very long time, so I should get back at it!  I'm using this "Today I Am..." theme that my sister did a few times on  her blog . It looks like fun, so here goes!

Today I Am...
(And lately I have been...)

{writing}
This post, and lately writing in my journal and of course writing for school a bit for answering questions and adding thoughts to interesting points.
I'm not particularly good at writing, and I don't like to so I don't normally write for fun. Sometimes I get ideas for stories, but they hardly ever work out so I've given up for now.

{reading}
Right now, I'm reading a book on my own called North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell,  I've also been reading my Bible a bit more lately, since I have a new Word of Life devotions book!
Last summer I read 3 books within a couple weeks, they are: The Lightkeeper's Bride, The Lightkeeper's Ball, and A Vision of Lucy. They were all wonderful books and I highly recommend each one!
I also recommend reading the first book in the Lightkeeper's series, The Lightkeeper's Daughter.
I also got a book for Christmas (which I have since finished) it's the last book in the Dream House King's series (Frenzy).  It is an amazing young adult adventure series, and I loved each and every book!

{listening}
Right now I'm listening to Casting Crowns station on Pandora radio, so basically a variety but mostly all Christian in some form with some exceptions. Loving Carrie Underwood's version of How Great Thou Art!! I listen to Francesca Battistelli's  CD Hundred More Years at night, when I go to bed. Lately I've been listening to Les Miserables music (and when I'm not listening to it, I'm humming it. Haha!) My sister is to blame for that one! I can't wait to see the movie, hoping to see it in the theater soon!

{watching}
Lately I've been watching movies with my sister. We recently finished watching the 4th season of BBC Merlin, which we both loved SO MUCH! We can't wait for the 5th season to come on Netflix! And I've also been watching Les Miserables 10th and 25th concerts with my sister. We also watch videos on Youtube like Messy Mondays, Jostie Flicks, and Tim Hawkins (comedy).

{looking}
Around outside and wondering why there isn't any snow. Here in my part of Kentucky there's been no snow for weeks! I find it rather depressing.

{learning}
I'm learning that geology is really fun! Learning the truth about our world, and the rocks and fossils we find today is amazing! I've been doing the Geology course from Answers in Genesis, and their curriculum is wonderful!

{feeling}
A bit down. Since moving here to Kentucky in June 2012, we haven't yet settled into a church, and I personally haven't made any friends. Acquaintances yes, but "friends" no. Especially ones my age. I'm hoping soon we'll find a church and I'll be able to join a youth group.

{anticipating}
Working somewhere very special soon. Hopefully. Making friends soon. Dinner, and the great chit-chat that goes on around the dinner table.

{wishing}
And hoping, for motivation to be able to keep up with posting here! I seem to come on strong and fizzle out quickly. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with it! Also wishing maybe for some subjects to take pictures of! Since we've been here in KY my photography has taken a couple huge steps back from where it was. I don't have as many sunsets, or flowers to take pictures of! :-(

{loving}
Music, sudoku puzzles, warm blankets, warm kitties, warm slippers, candy canes, glow-in-the-dark snowflakes, and going to Tuesday night Bible study. Bible study has been such a blessing! It's nice to get out of the house and be able to hang out with different people at least once a week.

Well, hello again! Sorry I haven't been posting in almost a year, but after my birthday we got really busy with moving, and now that it's a new year, I feel like I can get a fresh start!

So what are some awesome things that have been going on in your life?
Have a wonderful weekend!!

Day 23

Day 23
March 7, 2012
Today was moving day.  My parents got their new mattress and box spring thanks to the timely delivery guys, my sister got their old bed, which, by the way looks awesome in her room, and I got bunk beds! Hurray!

The house is still a mess, (mostly junk from my room piled in the kitchen and living room...) but hopefully SOMEONE *ahem* will put their stuff away!  While I'm happy I got bunk beds, there is one less book shelf, and one less piano in my room to pile stuff on. Which is sad. Hey! I used the top of that book shelf! ...for craft supplies....

Now I mostly need to go through my stuff and get rid of old toys and stuff...hey, anyone want to win a bunch of polly pocket stuff in a giveaway? Ha! kidding...almost.

Uhhhmmm...so yeah. That's what I did today. Took all the junk out of my room and piled it in the kitchen.  I'd say that's a pretty productive day, wouldn't you? =P
Now I'm going to settle down for a long winter's nap nice snooze on my top bunk....that doesn't have an outside rail, we might have to fix this if I ever fall off.  Here's to hoping I don't fall off the top bunk.

This is what my room looks like now:
Pretty sweet isn't it? =)
I did this up for my friend, she wondered how my room was set up now.

Annnnyyyywaaayyysssss....I have to go because I'm rambling on wayyy too much.
Goodnight!

Have you ever slept on a top bunk?
Have you ever fallen off a top bunk?
Have you ever fallen out of bed?
Did you ever teach your cat to climb a ladder? =P

Walking

First of all, Happy President's Day!

Second, and most important:
Yesterday my dad and I went for a walk in the woods/fields around our house.
It was kinda windy, and cold, but it was fun too. =)

So here are some of the things we saw:

Apple trees!

Bones in the field

I love views like this!

More bones.

Something was apparently tied up here...

The view from the hill was gorgeous!

Another field we found.

There were SO many turkey tracks! We've seen a lot of them around lately.

Turkeys. I wish I had gotten a better picture! They flew away once they saw us, and they actually ended up clearing the trees to the left, which is pretty amazing for turkeys!

In the woods.

This was ice. We walked across it. Yes, I *was* nervous.

This was a logging trail they used last year. There are so many branches!

And we saw a lot of this. The deer really like the apple trees around here.

So this was my fun Sunday afternoon. I should be back to posting regularly soon.
Oh, by the way. I just finished changing the blog around. Opinions? I wanted something with less Christmas and more spring-ish colors. Plus I wanted something up to date with my life.
I also made some new buttons, so you can go grab one if you want.  They're all on the Link To Me page at the top, plus there's one on the sidebar.

How was your weekend?

Meet the new kitties!

A few days ago, my dad saw a posting at work for two older male cats that needed a good home.
We decided since we only have one cat now, (we lost Gertrude back in November), that we could take them in.  Now, their names were Cue-Cue and Bam-Bam, but we didn't like these names so we're changing them to.....

Shawn

and....
Gus

Shawn - is the more friendly of the two and loves attention. He's very sweet, loves to rub you, be petted, and if you sit next to him but don't pet him, he'll rub you to death and then pat you with his paws. =)
He's more nervous than Gus, but he comes around easier because of his love of attention.
He is black short hair with white on his paws, bib and stomach. He has white whiskers and gold eyes.

Gus - is a little less friendly, and not as photogenic. He had trouble settling in, and often got so scared he bit or scratched on the first day. He is nervous like Shawn, but more bold and he knows what he wants and doesn't want. At first he growled and hissed at us, but now he likes being petted and enjoys the attention almost as much as Shawn does. =)
He is all black longer hair and looks like an owl or a lion. He has black whiskers, and gold eyes.

Today was the first day they were allowed to roam the house as they pleased. They came on Wednesday, and stayed in a cage most of the day, my parents took them out that night and Shawn came around really quickly.  The next day they roamed my sister's room the whole day and we started taking them one by one upstairs to the main floor and closing off bedrooms and such so they couldn't run and hide.

Now they are allowed to roam the house as they please, but we find that they always go back to my sister's room when they get nervous.  Shawn and Gunther get along okay now, not so scared of each other, but Gus and Gunther aren't on "speaking terms" quite yet. I hope they all become buds after awhile.

Just a few minutes ago (and again now) Shawn ventured into my room just to explore a little, and now Gus came in and left again too. They are getting so brave! =) I'm glad.

Note:
All the photos were taken by my sister. I seem to have lost miss placed my camera somehow and haven't been able to take pictures of the new kitties only once since they got here! I'm so sad! ='(

Can you guess which TV show we got Shawn & Gus from?
Did you have a good weekend?

Disney Button Contest - My Entries!

I'm entering in Stephanie's Disney Button Contest.
I made 5 entries. Here they are:

This one I thought up while my sister and I were talking about entering this contest:
Picture from: The Aristocats
Quote from: Emma (2009)

I personally didn't think this was as funny, but I'm still entering it, you never know who might think it's hilarious!
Picture from: Enchanted
Quote from: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)

While looking through quotes on IMDB from one of my favorite movies, I found this quote and thought it would go perfectly with this picture:
Picture from: Tangled
Quote from: Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium

Looking through quotes on IMDB again, I found this quote, but I wasn't sure if it exactly went with the picture, so I showed it to my sister to get her opinion. She laughed hysterically when she saw it so I decided it went perfectly. =)
Picture from: Home on the Range
Quote from: Pride & Prejudice (2005)

And lastly, another Tangled one. I love, love, love this quote! And it goes perfectly, what can I say?
Picture from: Tangled
Quote from: Night at the Museum 2

So, I hope you like them! It took me awhile to figure out what quotes went with what pictures, but then all at once I found a few good quotes and the pictures to go with them. =)

On another note:
Okay, I admit it. I'm a bad blogger. Yup.
I haven't posted my Photo-A-Day in10 days. Ugh....I really don't know what happened!
I didn't even really take pictures every day either. I'm just bad... ='(
Anyways. I'm gonna post the pictures from the first few days I missed and some older pictures to make up for the lack of picture taking. Hopefully those will be posted sometime soon. You know me though, sometimes I don't get around to it. Like the literature blog post I was supposed to do on my school blog. I had all weekend to do it, but I didn't. Why? I don't know. I'm just strange like that.
Instead I listen to songs on the computer and think about doing what I need to do, but never do it.

I have another announcement too, that I haven't posted about yet. :-|
I'm going to! But I'm not promising anything. I probably won't do it if I promise.... =P

Did you have a good weekend?
Do you like my Disney buttons?
Do you procrastinate as much as I do?

Snow anyone?

As the first loverly snow plow of the "winter" season rumbled past our house, I could only think of one thing as I ran to the window to watch it pass:  "It's starting!! Winter is here at last!!".  The weatherman says we'll be getting 5-10 inches of snow with this one storm, I'm quite excited for the snow since it's the first, but I think it's beginning a little too early. Don't you? I mean, it's only October! True, it's the end, but surely before November is too early!
The part I don't like is that as I'm writing this, the lights keep flickering. They say the power may go out.  I sort of hope it does, in a way, but having the power out is more fun in the summer because it's not so cold.

So I've been thinking, Miss Bea's Scrapbook doesn't really suit this blog anymore. It was an interesting name for it at the start, but I'm not sure I really like it anymore.  Though I've done scrap booking,  I've never really gotten into it, so I don't think scrapbook goes very well.  And Miss Bea sounds so...formal.

{So.  I was wondering. If you loverly followers, would help me a bit.  Maybe suggest some new names for my blog?  I would very much appreciate it.}

If I get enough suggestions I'll make up a poll and have y'all vote. Sound good?
I'd also like to know what kinds of posts I should do.  I'll admit I have been feeling rather disappointed with my blog lately.  See, my sister has a blog too. Hers is pretty popular and all, and I'm feeling kinda...jealous.  But, the thing is, she has something to post about.  Ya know? I'm still not sure what to post about.  I keep feeling like nobody wants to hear about me, me, me, all the time.
And true, I have photography, but it takes time to upload all those pictures and find the ones I like and...blah, blah, blah.  I'm rambling.  I also feel kinda selfish talking about myself all the time. I'm sure anyone who reads this knows what I mean right?

So anyway, you have a reason for my lack of posts since...*checks how long it's been since I last posted*...August.  Sheesh! I didn't know it'd been that long.
But I'd better go bundle up in some nice warm pj's and settle down for the night since the power keeps going out. So, good night all.  *cue song from the Sound of Music* "So long, fair well...."

My Prize!

On  May 9, I won this lovely hair bow from God's Daughter's May kick off giveaway! =)

I got it last Wednesday, all wrapped up in a cute little blue bow.

Miss Raquel is so nice, and I enjoyed chatting with her a little bit via e-mail.

The bow is gorgeous, and although I haven't quite found an outfit to wear it with, I'm sure I will in the near future! =)

A side note, I had someone say that they'd like to win one of my homemade bags, so I'll have to post some pictures. I've made 2 recently and I forgot to take pictures of one! =(
So my next post will probably be that...hopefully soon!

Yours Truly,
Miss Bea
